The 7th edition of the Choro Jazz Festival comes consolidated on the musical circuit. It will be performed in Fortaleza, before heading to the beautiful and paradisiacal Jericoacoara beach, where the festival presents its traditional musical week including renowned musicians from the worldwide musical scene in its line-up. The Choro Jazz Festival, which is totally free, takes place from November 27th to 29th at Centro Cultural Dragão do Mar in Fortaleza and from December 1nd to 6th at Jericoacoara’s Main Square.
It will provide a musical overview that will transition between different Brazilian states, EUA and Italy thus composing a rare and fruitful score to be covered by the public during intense days filled with a musical atmosphere. The approach of musical the genres that baptize the festival brings the exchange between musicians and styles providing the audacity of sound experimentation, improvisation and virtuosity; a graceful and especially tricky musical experience. The audience is presented with a musical landscape full of nuances, diversified accents and styles; a repertoire that is rarely included in the seasons of traditional shows.
After the shows in Fortaleza, the festival runs through the dunes and reaches Jericoacoara, that will once again host the Festival. One of the most famous beaches in the world, It is a small paradise located 300 km (186 miles) from Fortaleza. Jeri, as it is affectionately called by its admirers, integrates a protected environmental area, filled with dunes, beautiful rock formations, exotic beaches and crystal clear lagoons. Busy destinations in touristic routes, the cities of Fortaleza and Jijoca de Jericoacoara annually receive thousands of tourists from all over the world, attracted by its natural beauty.
United to the musical performances, the Choro Jazz Festival also offers a consistent complimentary educational programming (workshops) with emphasis on instrumental music, its richness and multiplicity of forms. The workshops will be presented during one week in Jericoacoara. Besides the instrument lessons, workshops of group rehearsal and composing lessons will be given. Registration is open and the seats are limited.
